Lepidium sativum is reported to exhibit antihypertensive, diuretic, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anticoagulant, antirheumatic, hypoglycemic, laxative, prokinetic, antidiarrheal, and antispasmodic properties. It has been shown to possess antiasthmatic and bronchodilatory potential in preliminary studies, but there is no report available in the literature on the pharmacological basis for its medicinal use in airways disorders.
