None of the given samples are Sida cordifolia. The first two samples are Sida cordata. Identification of plants like this have ruined the Indian system of medicine

Dimple ji,

Thank you for your concern about ISM. The images posted above as S. cordifolia are confirmed by 2 eminent persons (one from British Columbia University and another from Bengaluru). Erect herb, leaves cordate and hairy (stem too), pedicel is shorter than peduncle suggests that this is Sida cordifolia of Malvaceae family.

If you have other identification keys for this plant, I welcome you to post the same.

It is always my intention to correct myself if there is some thing wrong on my part.

Leaves of S. cordifolia are not so acuminate as S. cordata (Your posted pic), further more, they are felty, with some what round bases or tapered to blunt point. The Flower stalk is not as long as S. cordata. Most importantly, flowers are clustered in the upper leaf forks or at the tips of the stems. I request you not to send wrong information to researchers. Further if you do not agree then consult prominent taxonomist.

OK. To avoid confusion I have replaced all the pictures with new ones. Hope they are correct. You can also review other posts. My Email ID is in the bottom of page.
